Yucatecan companies make their way into the Colombian market with their participation in the “Antioquia es Mágica” Fair, through the “Yucatán Expone” promotion strategy. This is the result of the efforts carried out by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal to promote the commercialization of artisanal and industrialized products made in the region.
The second edition of this expo fair was inaugurated today in the city of Medellín and will be open to the public until next Sunday the 24th, with Yucatán as a special guest. This is the result of the rapprochement between Vila Dosal and the Governor of Antioquia, Aníbal Gaviria Correa, during the eighth edition of the Smart City Expo LATAM Congress, in Mérida.
At the opening ceremony, the director of Special Projects and Support for Women Entrepreneurs of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sefoet), Ana E. Sansores Bernés, explained that it is the first time that “Yucatán Expone” leaves the country, allowing small and medium-sized companies the opportunity to position their products in a new market.
In this way, Medellín becomes the fourth venue in 2023, after having been held in Puebla, Jalisco and Mexico City, thus continuing the journey that began in 2022 and that took it to the states of Durango, Jalisco, Chihuahua and Aguascalientes, as well as other districts in the country’s capital, such as Coyoacán, La Magdalena Contreras and Álvaro Obregón, adding a total of 11 editions.
This strategy allows the artistic and craft vocations of the state to be exalted and to encourage direct trade between manufacturers and buyers. Among the Yucatecan products that the Antiochian public will be able to enjoy are condiments and seasonings, honey and its derivatives, embroidered clothing, guayaberas, footwear, hammocks, and jewelry.
In the presence of the Governor of Antioquia, and his namesake of the Metropolitan Region of Santiago de Chile, Claudio Orrego, Sansores Bernés also thanked the companies for their trust in the strategies promoted by the State Government for their strengthening, and recalled that “ It is a commitment of Sefoet to promote the strategic grouping of local companies and promote scenarios that facilitate the development of their productive activity.”
The first edition of “Antioquia es Mágica” received 114 thousand people in four days, due to the success obtained in number of visitors and sales, it is carried out again with representatives of the nine subregions of this entity, six artistic stages, more than 1,500 artists, a wide gastronomic offer and shopping and gaming areas.
