Universidad Modelo Mérida inaugurates new facilities and laboratories

15/09/2023 | Merida, Yucatan – A new dental simulation room, the opening of a clinic and three multifunctional practical classrooms are the new tools that the School of Health of the Universidad Modelo Merida will have to benefit the student community of the Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgeon.

This Friday was the official inauguration of the new facilities and laboratories that are part of the commemoration of the 26th anniversary of the institution.

Carlos Sauri Quintal, general director of the Universidad Modelo Mérida, toured the new dental simulation room, which stands out for being equipped with 12 double units of German origin that will allow 24 students to practice simultaneously.

Thus, students will be able to get close to the real experience of providing care to patients with oral and dental problems from the first semesters of their studies.

This room also has a scanner that will allow them to perform dental digitalization for subsequent 3D printing.

Mauricio Sauri Vivas, Secretary of Health Services of Yucatan, accompanied the director on a tour of the new dental clinic with 10 units, making a total of four clinics on campus to provide care to the general public.

Three new multifunctional practical classrooms were also inaugurated for the health area undergraduate programs, which are larger than a classroom.

The total investment for the creation of these spaces was approximately 10.5 million pesos.
