Unconscious man on a “Va y Ven” bus causes police mobilization in Mérida

A man lost consciousness and then – allegedly – had a seizure inside a “Va y Ven” transportation system unit.

The individual reportedly remained unconscious and on the floor of the unit from Fidel Velázquez Avenue to the Mexican Red Cross, East Delegation, where the bus driver requested assistance.

However, videos circulating on social media have caused annoyance among users, as they show students who do not seek help from the driver when they see the man fall but instead laugh and record with their cell phones.

Reportedly, it was only when the man began to foam at the mouth, allegedly having a seizure, that the driver was alerted. Upon arriving at the Red Cross, he disembarked all passengers and requested help.

Another version suggests that police officers became aware of the incident, and upon examining the individual, determined that he was in a state of intoxication.
