MÉRIDA, Yucatan, September 08, 2023: A unique moment was experienced by a couple of Polish tourists while visiting the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve in Yucatan. During a walk they were able to capture a huge jaguar crossing the river.
The moment occurred on Thursday morning in a boat belonging to the “Costa Oriente Tours” group, when they were enjoying a tour of the protected natural reserve.
At one point, they encountered an enormous jaguar crossing the river, approximately 30 meters long; the moment was captured by the tourists who were impressed by the experience.
The boatman stopped for a moment so as not to scare the feline during its passage from one end to the other and after a few seconds, the beautiful specimen climbed into the mangrove trees.
The service providers indicate that usually when they do not find food on one side of the river, they swim across to the other end in search of another prey to hunt, and when this happens, they avoid harming or scaring the animal.
