Starting from September 22, 14 Magical Towns from the Yucatán Peninsula are participating in the International Tianguis in Los Angeles, California, with the aim of promoting the tourism, craftsmanship, culture, and gastronomy richness of the towns that have received these designations.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, this event offers an opportunity not only for the Magical Towns of Campeche, Quintana Roo, and Yucatán but also for 23 other states in Mexico to be present in one of the main international tourist markets.
This event, which will conclude on September 24, will host major tour operators from around the world, primarily from the United States, who will gather at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California.
The designated space at the Shrine Expo Hall covers over five thousand square meters where stands for the participating states and towns have been set up, as well as pavilions for the artisanal and gastronomic aspects, and a business area where keynote presentations will take place.
The first edition of the International Magical Towns Tianguis took place in 2022 in Barcelona, Spain, and according to Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco, this event is an important opportunity for different localities with this distinction to promote themselves.
Out of the 177 Magical Towns in all of Mexico, the Yucatán Peninsula is participating with 14 designated locations; three in Campeche, four in Quintana Roo, and seven in Yucatán.
During the three days of the International Magical Towns Tianguis, there will also be a diverse program of cultural, artistic, and musical activities that will strengthen the presence of the tourist offerings of these places, with the aim of attracting more travelers as part of efforts to diversify the activity in this sector in Mexico.
