The Progreso City Council, under the direction of Mayor Julián Zacarías Curi, is pleased to announce that the low-cost canine and feline sterilization campaign is still underway, thanks to the work of the Subdirectorate of Ecology.
During September, 30 canine and 20 feline sterilizations have already been carried out in the city and port of Progreso. These efforts will contribute significantly in the future to reducing the overpopulation of these species, thus minimizing the presence of stray and abandoned dogs and cats. In addition, a completely free rabies vaccination program is offered to protect pets from this disease.
To access these services, just go to the Ecology Subdirectorate, located on the corner of Av. Yucalpetén, with 19th Street, (between 18th and 20th Streets), from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, is from Monday to Friday. It is required to present a copy of the INE and, if requesting sterilization, pay a recovery fee of 300 pesos to receive.
For more information or to clarify questions, you can call (969)-103-93-32 or visit the Facebook page of the Directorate of Public Services and Ecology: https://www.facebook.com/DSPEProgreso
Mayor Julián Zacarías Curi calls on the community in general to become aware of the importance of sterilizing their pets. This not only contributes to birth control in animals but also helps prevent future diseases that could be transmitted to humans. Together, we can ensure a healthier future for our pets and our community.
