A taxi driver traveling in his vehicle from the “Lázaro Cárdenas del Río” union became the victim of an armed attack that cost him his life, while a minor who was accompanying him also got injured while they were in Puerto Aventuras, Playa del Carmen.
The incident took place at approximately 6:00 in the evening on Calzada del Sol Avenue, between Calamar Street and Mantarraya Street. According to preliminary reports, several individuals fired shots at the taxi driver who was driving the vehicle marked with number 335.
Tragically, the taxi driver lost his life at the scene of the incident. This marks the 67th execution in Playa del Carmen so far in the year 2023.
In addition to the taxi driver, a minor who was accompanying him in the vehicle was also injured in the attack. The child was privately transported to the hospital by family members, and the severity of her injuries is currently unknown.
The State Attorney General’s Office has initiated an investigation to clarify the motive behind this murder. (SIM Agency)
