Playa del Carmen: Canadian tourist injured in armed attack outside ‘Prana’ bar

A violent incident rocked the nightclub area of Quintana Avenida in Playa del Carmen in the early hours of Thursday, September 28th. Nawanjali “N,” a Canadian tourist, was shot in the leg.

According to reports to the authorities via WhatsApp, it was reported that apparently, an armed individual had fired gunshots on the corner of 12th Street and 10th Avenue, right in front of the ‘Prana’ bar, on Calle 12 Nte, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

Unfortunately, a Canadian woman was injured in her left leg, and she had a panic attack due to the severity of the injury.

Muncipal Police officers arrived at the scene immediately and, after conducting a search operation, apprehended a man from Tabasco four blocks away with a weapon.

The foreigner was identified as Nawanjali “N,” and paramedics transported her to Amerimed Hospital, where she is recovering.

At the moment, it is unknown why Raul “N,” aged 36, attacked the location, and it is believed that it could be related to extortion, but authorities have not confirmed this version.
