The Municipal Government of Progreso, under the leadership of Mayor Julián Zacarías Curi, is pleased to announce that the low-cost canine and feline sterilization campaign continues to be in progress, thanks to the efforts of the Ecology Subdirectorate.
During the month of September, 30 canine sterilizations and 20 feline sterilizations have already been performed in the city and port of Progreso. These efforts will significantly contribute to reducing the overpopulation of these species in the future, thereby minimizing the presence of stray and abandoned dogs and cats. In addition, a free rabies vaccination program is offered to protect pets from this disease.
To access these services, interested individuals can go to the Ecology Subdirectorate, located on Av. Yucalpetén, Calle 19 between 18 and 20, from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. A copy of the INE (National Voter ID) is required, and for sterilization, a recovery fee of $300 must be paid to receive an appointment number.
