López Obrador attended the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Coup d’État at La Moneda

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador arrived at 8:45 this Monday, September 11th, (Chilean time) at La Moneda Palace to participate in the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Coup d’État in Chile that ended with the death of Salvador Allende.

SANTIAGO, CHILE.- The head of the Executive arrived at the historic building accompanied by his wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller and was welcomed by Chilean Foreign Minister Alberto Van Klaveren.

Inside La Moneda, there will be a breakfast with the heads of state attending the commemoration, and afterward, there will be a civic event in Constitution Square where Allende’s final speech before his death will be replayed.

Following the protocol event, López Obrador will depart for Santiago de Chile International Airport to return to Mexico.
