MÉRIDA, Yucatan, September 3, 2023 – With the objective of exhibiting the tourist offer and collaborating with the economic reactivation of Yucatecan families, the City Hall headed by Renán Barrera Concha held “Discover Valladolid” to present to visitors the different cultural, service and gastronomic attractions of eastern Yucatan.
The event coordinated with the Association of Hotels and Hostels of Valladolid and the Restaurant Association of Valladolid was attended by 25 restaurants, hotels and service companies of the Pearl of the East, as well as 26 buyers, to promote in business appointments and in an exhibition at the Paseo de Montejo Auction, all the richness that the city has for visitors.
In this regard, José Luis Martínez Semerena, Director of Economic Development and Tourism, recalled that in recent months, the Mayor visited Valladolid to outline a strategy to promote the tourist attractions of the city of Zací.
“The Mayor committed to join efforts to promote Valladolid in Merida, highlighting all the tourist jewels it possesses. Likewise, in March of this year during the Tianguis Turístico in Mexico City, we signed a collaboration agreement with the Association of Hotels and Hostels of Yucatán to foster the promotion of both destinations”, he emphasized.
Counting on great allies, he added, such as the Restaurant Association of Valladolid Yucatan and the Association of Tourism Promotion Agencies of Yucatan, we were able to materialize this promise that will bring present and future links that will continue to place Merida, Valladolid and Yucatan in the eyes of the world.
He pointed out that business meetings were held to strengthen alliances and promote commercial relations between the tourism industries of Merida and the Sultana del Oriente, and there was also an event called “The Sultana del Oriente”.

As you may recall, prior to this event, the “Encuentro Artesanal de Valladolid” was held in conjunction with the Valladolid City Hall, where the business sector obtained profits of a little more than $300,000 pesos.
