To the amazement of passersby in the Lucas de Gálvez market area, two individuals engaged in a tremendous fight in the center of Mérida.
The confrontation was recorded by several people who merely observed as one of the men, who apparently is a market vendor, brutally beat and kicked his opponent, who was lying on the ground.
In the footage, the alleged vendor is seen holding a knife and shouting at the man on the ground.
At another moment, a third person grabs a plastic crate and throws it at the men without stopping the fight.
It is known that Municipal Police of Mérida officers arrived at the scene and managed to break up the fight, arresting both individuals who were subsequently taken to the public jail.
The reasons behind this aggression are still unknown.
