AMLO announces new test of Maya Train, this time in Bacalar, Quintana Roo

23/09/2023 | Bacalar, Quintana Roo.- In a brief interview he gave in Bacalar, before beginning his tour of works, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that in 15 days there will be a new test of the Mayan Train, now leaving Cancún to reach Escárcega, Campeche.

Questioned about how his government is doing, one year before the end of his term, he affirmed that it is going very well, “I am leaving happy, very happy because I have dedicated myself to serving the people”.

Regarding the closing of this year, he said that he will be inaugurating works, apparently among them the Mayan Train, of which he anticipated that in 15 days he will lead a new supervision tour, now departing from Cancun, since the tracks will already be ready.

Tulum International Airport to be inaugurated in December

During his tour through the state, López Obrador also evaluated this Saturday the progress of the works of the new “Felipe Carrillo Puerto” Tulum International Airport and reiterated that the terminal will start operating in December.

“They are already working on the finishing touches of the terminal of the new International Airport of Tulum Felipe Carrillo Puerto, in Quintana Roo. In December we will inaugurate it,” said the president, who shared a video of his tour on social networks.

The governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, who accompanied the president in the review, said on the social network X that the works have an advance of 65 percent.

“This macro work has generated 14,690 jobs and in December of this year it will become an innovative access to Quintana Roo, for more than 5 million visitors who will bring prosperity to the center and south of the state,” she added.

López Obrador is also supervising the Mayan Train works in the region.
