A 90% occupancy is expected in Cancun restaurants for Independence Day celebrations

The National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) expects an occupancy rate of between 90 and 100 percent during the upcoming weekend due to the Independence Day celebrations on September 15th and 16th.

Julio Villarreal, president of the restaurant organization, commented that expectations for this weekend are very high for the sector, which has experienced a decrease in consumption so far in September.

He mentioned that, in order to stimulate consumption for the upcoming weekend, several restaurants have started to launch promotions, such as special events, among other measures.

In the case of restaurants in Cancun’s hotel zone, the restaurant representative indicated that they will be allowed to sell this type of beverages until 4 in the morning.

Furthermore, he stated that restaurants will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner of different styles and prices, aiming to attract diners who want to commemorate the start of Mexico’s Independence at a restaurant.

He considered that members of the gastronomic sector are hoping that the economic forecasts for these dates are met to improve the average consumption that has been recorded during September.

Therefore, Villarreal urged the residents of the state and especially national tourists who will take advantage of the “long weekend” for a vacation during that weekend, to visit and dine at Cancun’s restaurants, which offer a variety of cuisines and prices.
