Tragedy at a Residence for the Disabled in France

At least nine people have died, and 11 are missing as a result of a fire that broke out at a residence for individuals with disabilities in La Forge, Vosges department, France.

The incident is believed to have originated on the ground floor of the building, but the flames quickly spread to the upper part where the individuals were trapped.

According to Le Figaro newspaper, Colonel Philippe Hauwiller, leading the rescue operations, stated that the victims were found in the mezzanine area and the first floor of the building.

French authorities expressed their condolences and labeled the event as a tragedy.
