PUERTO VALLARTA, Jal., August 11, 2023 – Personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy, through the Mexican Navy, carried out the rescue of three foreigners who were adrift aboard a vessel.

Marines acting as the Coast Guard provided assistance to a catamaran-type vessel while it was sailing approximately five nautical miles (9.26 kilometers) west of Punta de Mita, Nayarit.

The catamaran vessel named Forlo, with three American individuals on board, departed from Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, destined for Cruz de Huanacaxtle in Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit. However, at a certain point, it drifted and lost propulsion due to hydraulic system failures.
