“The Boss”, an elderly drug dealer arrested in Mérida

Agents of the State Investigation Police (PEI) and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) seized methamphetamine and cannabis in a house in San José Tzal, south of Mérida, early this Thursday morning.

The Army, the Navy, and the National Guard participated in the search as well.

A 72-year-old woman, María Gloria N.P., alias “La Jefa” (The Boss) was arrested at the house, on the 161th street.

Investigating agents from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) with the support of dogs, located and seized the drug, which was ready for sale.

The woman and the drugs were sent to the Public Ministry, which  will turn them over to the judge who issued the search warrant, based on investigations from an anonymous citizen complaint.
