After the distribution of free textbooks to Basic Education students in Campeche began, the distribution was halted due to an injunction.
Before midnight on August 28th, the Secretary of Education of Campeche announced that, due to a provisional suspension granted in indirect amparo case 1065/2023, the distribution of the new free textbooks was canceled in the region.
Authorities have not disclosed who filed the amparo against the textbooks. However, media sources affirm that the request was made by the “More Life More Family” Association.
According to the document distributed during the early hours of this Tuesday, the notification was received on Monday, August 28th, leading to immediate instructions to suspend the distribution of the textbooks.
