Softball game ends in a brawl in Hunucmá, Yucatán

What appeared to be just another game in the women’s softball league of this municipality, featuring the teams from Celestún and Sisal, turned into a chaotic scene. Everything seemed calm at the end of the game, but as the classic sportsmanship gesture unfolded to seal the match, in which Sisal’s team emerged victorious, it escalated from exchanged words to punches, kicks, and clashes.

The accounts of some witnesses, including the mayor of Celestún, José Ramírez Perera (also known as “Pontis”), who is well-versed in commenting on such matters, quickly spread on social media.

Meanwhile, in other issues within their community, not a word is spoken.

On the other hand, the sports authorities of this city have not commented on this embarrassing altercation, and it remains uncertain whether they will penalize or expel both teams from the tournament.
