The National Executive Committee of the National Action Party (PAN) reported that the mayor of Mérida, Renán Barrera Concha, was appointed as the person responsible for the Yucatán 2024 team, after they presented the result of a poll carried out last weekend in which he leads the preferences to be the candidate for governor of Yucatán in 2024. However, out of respect for the electoral process that has not yet begun, the PAN is not calling Barrera Concha an official candidate.

Also, Cecilia Patrón Laviada will be the liaison for the Yucatán team in Mérida, this means she will be the candidate to be Merida’s mayor. Liborio Vidal Aguilar will be the liaison for the Yucatán team for the Legislative Plan; and Rommel Pacheco Marrufo and Julian Zacarías Curi would be liaisons for the federal districts.

The PAN members met last Friday at the headquarters of the political party where the result of a survey that was applied to 1,200 people was announced. In this way, it was defined that the mayor of Mérida is the one who heads the project.

The national leader of the PAN, Marko Cortés, guaranteed that there is a great commitment to build a unity project that “gives continuity to the good course in Yucatan, one of the best models and a benchmark at the national level in security, transparency and job growth.”

The national head of the PAN assured that the participants of this table have the best will to respect the results of the survey.

“This is a transparent process, of cohesion, dialogue and unity in which we will all close ranks to continue on the path of good governance in the state and the municipalities that today have the Yucatecans with a better quality of life and with greater opportunities and services,” he said.

Renán Barrera has been mayor of Mérida three times and has broad support from the PAN militancy in Yucatán, in addition to the fact that in all the polls carried out in recent months they place him as the favorite to win the elections.

The general secretary of the PAN, Cecilia Patrón Laviada, was appointed as liaison for the team of that party in Yucatán for Mérida, so for the next electoral process she will be its candidate for mayor.
