Nine people arrested for a pyramid scheme in Valladolid

A total of nine involved who presented themselves as representatives and partners of the company Generación Zoe México, who seized various sums of money through deception in Valladolid, were linked to the process for fraud, after the evidence provided by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

The FGE integrated the corresponding investigation after several complaints against the defendants, who deceived their victims, to the detriment of their assets, for which they were arrested and brought before the judicial authority.

At the hearing, the prosecutors presented the evidence gathered in the investigation, which was considered by the First Control Judge of the Fifth Judicial District as sufficient to link all those involved to the process and also grant a period of three months for the closure of the complementary investigation.

From June 2021 to February 2022, the defendants, acting as representatives and partners of the company that they called Generación Zoe México, in the “Plaza Anturio” in Valladolid, obtained sums of money from the victims, offering them a higher yield than those of banking institutions.

Among those affected are housewives, peasants, merchants, professionals and even politicians from Temozón, who were deceived by the pyramid scheme, for amounts ranging from 20 thousand to one million pesos. Most of the victims of this fraud are originally from Temozón, but there are also other parts of eastern Yucatán.
