MORENA mayor from San Luis Potoi arrested in Cancun

Gregorio Cruz, the mayor from the MORENA party in Axtla de Terrazas, San Luis Potosí, was arrested for assaulting and threatening police officers on the beach of a luxury hotel in Cancun, Quintana Roo.

According to the authorities’ report, the official was under the influence of alcohol and illicit substances.

His wife, Raquel López, and a man named Jonatan Grijalva were also detained. The mayor caused a disturbance in public order with the excuse of having lost a chain.

Initially, Cruz lied and claimed to be a merchant, but he was later identified.
