The poor service provided by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) in southern Quintana Roo is hitting various business sectors, including the hotel industry, where at least 35 lodging centers have suffered losses of various kinds, resulting in millions of pesos in damages for the tourism industry.

From cancellations to damages to electronic equipment and even total losses, these are some of the cases reported by hoteliers, stated Raúl Andrade, the President of the South Quintana Roo Hotel Association.

The President of the Hotel Association also mentioned that this situation is being analyzed to establish a concrete figure, and they will proceed with a complaint against the CFE and possibly legal actions.
