IE-Tram took everything away from them

With great indignation, residents of the Máximo Ancona neighborhood protested against the Government of Yucatán due to the impacts they claim to have suffered due to the construction of the IE-TRAM Mega Project, which involves an investment of over two billion pesos.

They stated that the lack of planning for construction to be friendly to the residential area has left them without trees, green areas, and even bus stops. Additionally, the changes in traffic flow have made it more difficult for them to circulate with their vehicles.

This discontent is not the first time they have expressed it, as they argue that this project will not bring anything good for them; instead, it has brought narrow streets, noise, and vibrations since the beginning of the construction.

They denounced that they are tired of not being taken into account, criticizing the money spent on installing hydraulic concrete only to remove it later. They also reported that holes are dug and lamps are placed, only to be removed afterward, considering it a waste of money. They firmly believe that the project lacks logic and coherence.

Finally, they announced that in the coming days, they will approach relevant authorities and hold more protests because their homes have also been affected by vibrations, resulting in cracks and raised floors.

Now, they are just waiting for the day of the project’s inauguration, which they promise to overshadow with their continued protests, as they feel that the authorities are not listening to them.
