Once again, a property in Progreso was the scene of an anti-drug operation, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of various items.

The operation took place on Friday morning when a convoy consisting of personnel from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), Mexican Army, National Guard, and Progreso State Police arrived at a property located on 39th Street between 98th and 100th Streets in the Canul Reyes neighborhood.

This incident caused concern as dozens of fishermen heading to the sea noticed the presence of law enforcement and the actions of uniformed personnel, who forcibly entered the property.

Among the complaints of the residents, Mrs. Isabel Pérez’s stood out, who stated that several operations have been carried out and they are hoping for increased surveillance in the port. They assert that they cannot live amidst so many operations that disrupt their peace.

Despite the residents’ complaints, it was reported that the incident took about 20 minutes, as after that time, the officers emerged from the property with four detainees identified as Patricia N., 41 years old; Jorge N., 29 years old; Jorge N., 24 years old; and Vicente N., 22 years old.

Following their arrest, the Federal Ministerial Police attached to the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) announced that they seized several ziplock-type packages containing illegal substances, including crystal meth, cocaine, and marijuana.

Likewise, weapons and cash were confiscated, while the detainees were handed over to the appropriate authorities.
