Foreign tourists end up off the road on the Mérida-Tetiz

A family of foreign tourists, traveling in a Nissan Xtrail SUV, found their journey returning to the Yucatecan capital cut short as they ended up in the ditch along the federal Mérida-Tetiz highway.

The German tourists had rented the vehicle to visit the beaches in this western region. After enjoying the sea and seafood, they began their return trip to Mérida, where they were staying.

However, the foreign driver lost control of the SUV, veering off the road at kilometer 16, after traveling more than 50 meters off the right of way around 3 in the afternoon.

Officers from the State Police (SSP) and the Municipal Police of Hunucmá arrived to assist, and despite the jolts, none of the passengers were injured.
