The death of businessman Íñigo Arenas Saiz on August 7 exposed a network of complicity between drug dealers, pirate taxi drivers, express kidnappers, thugs, prostitution, and even the omission of capital police force, under the shadow of criminal organizations such as the Tepito Union and the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) in one of the most exclusive areas of Mexico City.
The body of Arenas Saiz was found in a nightclub in the State of Mexico, the Black Royce, after, according to police investigations, women who worked in the VIP area of that business drugged him to rob him. Four women involved are under arrest.
After drugging the businessman, one of the women told the bouncer, Carlos Daniel “N” that Arenas Saiz “feels bad and turned purple,” for which the club’s staff “performed CPR on him.”
The testimonies indicate that she later insisted that “the client got sick again”. They called the emergency services and transferred him to another area, next to the emergency exit, where his body was found.
According to an investigation by Proceso magazine, in Polanco, a pattern of attacks against men and women is repeated in the corridor of clubs and restaurants in the exclusive area in the Miguel Hidalgo municipality, similar to what happened to the businessman Íñigo Arenas.
Neighbors of the area, members of a neighborhood chat, which establishes communication with commands of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), declared: “The situation that resulted in the loss of Íñigo’s life has been repeated for a long time. We have asked that measures be taken to prevent these attacks on people who leave these clubs in the Polanco area from continuing to be repeated.”
According to the count made by the neighbors, who speak with Proceso under the condition of anonymity, for fear of reprisals, cases such as that of Arenas Saiz have been presented in Polanco since 2018 and 2019, in the mayor’s office currently directed by the PAN member Mauricio Tabe, but also under the management of the then head of the Government of Mexico City Claudia Sheinbaum, current pres According to the neighbors, there is a criminal pattern: “Several cases that we know of say that they were taken to the Black Royce (in Naucalpan), and they have preferred not to report it. They refer to people who have suffered the same case as Íñigo: who went to the bathroom and did not return to their table because security took them out, after they began to feel bad, from one moment to the next. Not letting them in again, they ask for an Uber on the sidewalk, get into a car and lose consciousness. When they arrive at the Black Royce, they put them in a private room, with a half-naked prostitute, they charge bills of around 10 to 20 thousand pesos, which they pay by card at a terminal.”
The accounts add that, on certain occasions, these victims have been contacted the next day by waiters from the place who continued the extortion: “We have very compromising photos and videos and your ID with an address, we are going to look for your family and your wife to talk to them where did you spend yesterday morning, doing what and with whom?
Residents of the area believe that the victims were drugged with scopolamine, also known as Devil’s Breath.
The suspicions raised by the neighbors find support in reports of cases that have been communicated to them, where individuals mention having drank only two drinks maximum before losing control of their actions.idential candidate for Morena.
