Mérida, Yucatán, August 7, 2023.- The Secretary of Education of the Government of the State of Yucatán (Segey) informs that the educational authorities of the Federation have already sent the free textbooks; these copies are in custody and have not yet been delivered.
In search of the benefit of the Yucatecan students, and given the concerns generated by the content of these texts and the spirit of teamwork that marks this administration, the Segey will convene parents and will integrate a work table with experts, who will meet, analyze these specimens, and if necessary, complement with additional material.
This panel of experts will be made up of associations of parents, teachers and teachers and representatives of education workers unions, as well as state and federal educational authorities.
On the part of the Government of the State of Yucatán, the following will be part: the Segey and the Technical Secretariat of Planning and Evaluation.
The Segey also informs that it is pending and that it will abide by the judicial decisions that are taken on this issue, taking into account that there are several processes underway in various courts.
Likewise, it is reported that each year, the delivery of free textbooks to the different educational centers is carried out until the end of August, so the integration of the panel of experts and their opinions will be issued before said process.
This state administration recognizes education as one of the main drivers of change. For this reason, one of its main objectives is that students have the necessary tools and materials to study and continue transforming Yucatan for the better.
