Construction of the new Agustín O’Horán Hospital advances

Work on the construction of the new Agustín O’Horán Hospital is advancing smoothly, as expressed by the director of the institution, Marco Antonio Cetina Cámara. He added that they are unsure about the future use of the current building once they move to the new facilities.

“Up to now, the hospital is making significant progress. The foundations have been laid, and there are already structures like pillars and beams in place. It’s progressing quite well overall. As for the situation of the current building, the final decision regarding its fate will be in the hands of the Secretary of Health.”

He mentioned that there won’t be major logistical issues in moving to the new building, as only the 2,240 people working in the institution will be relocated. The new hospital will be fully equipped, and only a few specific pieces of equipment will be transferred.

The medical professional clarified that equipment no longer in use will be distributed among other hospitals and health centers. The hiring of additional medical staff will depend on the new hospital’s capacity to handle cases, determining whether there’s a need to expand the workforce. Currently, Doctor Sauri has been providing new staff to cover various areas.”
