Collision between 2 heavy vehicles on the Mérida-Cancún road

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday at kilometer 50 of the Mérida-Cancún federal highway. The driver of a closed-box truck was traveling towards the neighboring state when, due to dense fog, they did not notice a parked double-trailer gondola truck on the shoulder and ended up crashing into it.

Despite the dramatic accident, no injuries were reported, except for damage to both heavy vehicles. Officers from the Secretariat of Public Security and the National Guard’s Division of Roads and Highways are present at the scene to secure the area and prevent further accidents.
