A man was taken to the General Hospital with a gunshot wound to his back after being targeted in a gun attack while outside his residence in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood.
Taking advantage of the absence of authorities in the area, the perpetrators managed to carry out the attack and escape without being apprehended.
Through the emergency number 911, it was reported that a person had been injured by gunfire on 54th Street, between 30th and 35th Avenues in the mentioned neighborhood. The first responders were municipal police officers followed by a medical unit.
While at the scene, neighbors mentioned that the victim had been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle after two men on a motorcycle attempted to execute him as he arrived at his home.
With the descriptions of the assailants, the authorities conducted a search in the vicinity but were unable to apprehend them.
Meanwhile, agents from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), in the Homicide division, went to the hospital to gather information from the family as well as the victim himself in order to ascertain the motive behind the attack, which is not ruled out to be connected to retail drug sales.
