For real estate purchases, Mérida has become one of the most attractive cities in Mexico in recent years. The Yucatecan capital has successfully merged its rich Mayan history with a cosmopolitan and innovative vision, driving strong economic growth.

Mérida offers competitive prices compared to the rest of the country. Its proximity to beaches and tourist attractions such as the Riviera Maya or Chichén Itzá is an added advantage, not to mention its high quality of life and safety.

This growth is aligned with a significant increase in Foreign Direct Investment. Consequently, during the first nine months of 2022, Yucatán experienced a 489% growth, surpassing the national average of 13%, according to data from the Ministry of Economy.

Regarding the real estate market, the state boasts one of the most affordable markets in the country. On average, a 100-square-meter home is 66% cheaper in Yucatán than in Mexico City.

Mérida is known for its safety, as indicated by CEOWorld, a specialized magazine, ranking it as the second safest city in the Americas, only surpassed by Quebec, Canada. With a 72% agreement rate in the INEGI census, Mérida also has the highest police trust rate in the country.

This context presents an excellent opportunity for those considering settling in Yucatán, where developments like Akún and Mayab Residences can be found. Additionally, for those looking to invest in rental properties, the city’s thriving growth provides various projects with high return rates.
