Grooming is the sexual harassment of minors by adults through social networks, which can escalate to abuse; and for this type of action against a minor in Valladolid, J.R.M.I. was linked to a legal process this Tuesday.
After executing an arrest warrant against J.R.M.I., with the collaboration of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and the Secretary of Public Security (SSP), he was presented before the judicial authority, where he was charged with the crime of rape. .
The facts indicate that the defendant made contact with the minor through a social network. In December 2022, the criminal pressured the victim to have sexual relations, which took place on January 10, 2023 at a ranch near the Sucilá-Panabá highway.
Later, J.R.M.I. he coerced the minor to send him photographs, with which he maintained control over her, for which reason the meetings continued until the situation was discovered by the minor’s grandmother and the corresponding complaint was filed.
In a hearing held at the Valladolid Oral Justice Center in the First Control Court of the Fifth District, the Prosecutor’s Office formulated the charge of the crime against the subject and then presented the evidence to request the link to the process.
At the end of the session, the Prosecutor’s Office presented its arguments to request preventive detention as a precautionary measure, so the judge, after analyzing the data, granted the requested measure for the entire duration of the process.
