The Yucatecan Carlos Franco Cantón put another star in his swimming in open water world-class career.

The Yucatecan swimmer completed his “fourth sea” on Saturday, July by crossing the emblematic Strait of Gibraltar, which unites two continents, Europe and Africa.

A total of 15.3 kilometers was the section swam by Franco Cantón, who officially left at 1 in the afternoon from Punta Paloma, in Tarifa, Spain.

While waiting for the official figures, Franco Cantón said he was extremely satisfied with the scope of this achievement.

“Mission accomplished”, he declared from African territory, in Morocco.

The Strait of Gibraltar is the fourth goal of the Yucatecan swimmer since he began with his odysseys in international waters.

It all began with the crossing of the English Channel, between the United Kingdom and France; He continued with a tour of Manhattan Island in New York and then went swimming from Catalina Island to California, between currents and shark-infested waters, to complete the Triple Crown.

The fourth star was Gibraltar, joining the Mediterranean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean, and Africa with Europe.
