Workers of the Tren Maya denounce abuses by members of the Mexican Army (SEDENA)

Workers of the Tren Maya from Section 7, front two, located in the community of Nicolás Bravo, have reported through social media the mistreatment they are experiencing from personnel of the Mexican Army (Sedena). They are being subjected to labor exploitation, intimidation, and threats of being fired from the project. They are not being paid on time, and their medical care is not guaranteed.

In a video posted on the TikTok platform with the account @ruth10irma2692022, several workers express their frustration about the situation they are facing in this federal project. They claim to be workers who came from Chiapas to Quintana Roo with the intention of having a job that provides fair pay, but that expectation is not being met.

They stated that they are being threatened with termination, receive only the minimum wage, and work from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The military personnel in charge are absent and do not address their needs as workers.

Finally, the workers point out that they are going through difficult times, as they have no rest, the workdays are extreme, and they have to endure high temperatures and illnesses.
