Consternation spread through a community in Yucatán after a police officer was attacked by a woman who cut his throat with a bladed weapon.
The incident took place on a property located in the Cementerio neighborhood in the community of Kaua, after the officer identified as Elías C.Ch., 49 years old, was assaulted by his wife, identified as Nancy M.P.U., 48 years old.
According to reports, the woman grabbed a razor blade to attack her husband after a heated argument.
The couple began to argue over past family issues, and the situation escalated from raising their voices to physically attacking each other. The woman then took the razor blade and slashed her husband’s throat, causing a bleeding wound that frightened the officer. He began screaming for help.
The man’s screams alerted the neighbors, who notified the authorities. Municipal Police and State Security forces arrived at the scene and apprehended the woman.
Paramedics provided first aid to the injured man and transported him to the General Hospital in Valladolid, where he received specialized medical attention.
It is worth noting that the medical report indicated that the officer’s injury was not serious, but it was a minor cut. However, due to the location of the wound, it bled profusely.
While the police officer is out of danger, he experienced a frightening ordeal when he saw the abundant blood flowing from his neck and feared for his life. It is unknown if he will press charges against his wife.
