Tree Falls Crushing Three Vehicles in Mérida, Yucatán

Once again, the falling of a huge tree in Yucatán is reported, causing considerable material damage as it crushed three vehicles in Mérida.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when a large flamboyant tree came down on three parked vehicles next to the Ignacio Tellez Hospital, known as T-1 of the IMSS.

Emergency services were called for assistance, and personnel from Civil Protection and the Secretariat of Public Safety (SSP) arrived at the scene to cordon off the area while awaiting the arrival of the Fire Department, responsible for removing the fallen tree.

Paramedics from the SSP attended to the people who sustained minor injuries, as some branches reached pedestrians in the area, but no serious injuries were reported.

As a precaution, the circulation in the area was reported to be closed to prevent further accidents.

Similarly, several similar incidents were reported on July 21st, with two people being seriously injured.
