Tequila Industry to Become a Global Model of Sustainability by 2030

Tequila aims to become a worldwide emblem of sustainable agro-industries, as it is already working to link its success to the social and environmental development of the region where its raw material, the Agave tequilana Weber blue variety, is produced.

Hand in hand with the Tequila Regulatory Council, projects have been launched to decarbonize the industry, promote efficient water use, and implement sustainable agricultural practices.

Efforts are also being made in programs for waste treatment and valorization, as well as certifying Tequila as a Deforestation-Free product, all while fostering economic growth in the regions.
