Streams grow due to heavy rain and sweep away 4 people in Atoyac

The intense rains caused streams to swell, and four individuals were swept away in this municipal seat of the Mexican state of Guerrero.

Residents of this area reported strong flooding in several houses and significant material losses due to the intense afternoon and evening precipitation on this Sunday, July 30th.

In the first instance, two men were rescued by paramedics after they were carried away by the stream in the Las Palmeras neighborhood.

Meanwhile, on Allende Street in the Centro neighborhood, two more people were carried away by the current of the stream while attempting to cross in a pickup truck; their rescue was also successful.

On social media, the affected individuals sought assistance from the authorities, and shortly afterward, workers from Civil Protection and soldiers from the 109th Infantry Battalion arrived at the scene.
