An investment of 25.8 billion pesos will be made in the construction of the Suburban Railway from Buenavista Station of the Suburban Train to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).
This was announced on Thursday during the morning press conference by Jorge Nuño, Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT). He provided details that the project will cover 42 kilometers, and the estimated travel time between the 12 stations will be 39 minutes without transfers.
Furthermore, the project will have 10 trains, each with the capacity to carry up to 719 people.
Manuel Gómez, Director-General of Railway Development at SICT, explained that the civil work is expected to be completed by February 2024, followed by electromechanical work in March. Subsequently, testing will take place between April and June.
