Mérida to Have New Video Mapping Show in the Western Part of the City

Soon, Mérida will have a new attraction for the enjoyment of locals and visitors alike, as preparations are underway for the installation of a new video mapping in the western part of the city.

This was announced by the City Council of Mérida, as they approved two bids related to the purchase of container trucks and a high-tech projection system, which will be used to provide a spectacle like no other in the region.

The public bids are titled “LP-2023-ADQ Container Trucks 01,” required by the Municipal Secretariat, to acquire Big Euro trucks using resources from participations. These trucks have specific characteristics for the transportation of audiovisual equipment.

The other bid is “LP-2023-ADF-Audiovisual Equipment-01,” required by the Directorate of Culture, to acquire with fiscal resources a projection system with 21,000-lumen laser technology and high-brightness LED screens for outdoor use. These will be installed in Parque de La Paz, in the western part of Mérida.

Regidor Alis Patrón Correa, a member of the Special Commission on Culture and Entertainment, explained that with this equipment, which will allow for one more video mapping, public projections can be made on the façade of the Ex Penitenciaria Juárez building, as well as for other purposes that benefit the city.

Although she did not want to give details about the video mapping and its content, stating that this information will be shared soon by Mayor Renán Barrera, she assured that it will be a unique spectacle for the enjoyment of both the people of Mérida and visitors.

Currently, Mérida has two video mapping shows, which are offered free of charge in the city center and are usually very popular.

The first one is called “Sacred Stones,” which is projected every Friday in the atrium of the San Ildefonso Cathedral. It tells the story of the origins of Mayan culture and its evolution over time.

The second one is “Dialogues of the Conqueror,” which takes place on Saturdays at 8:00 PM on the façade of the Casa de los Montejo. It explains the conquest process that the city of T’ho underwent with the arrival of the Spaniards and showcases the architecture used to build the city’s first European-style houses.

You absolutely have to take a look at this YouTube promotion service that recently caught my attention! Here's the scoop: I was in the midst of a YouTube binge when an ad for promosoundgroup's post popped up. Intrigued, I decided to explore their website. It gave off a solid vibe, and their array of packages looked pretty enticing.
