This Monday, July 24th, the governor of the state of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, once again attended the morning press conference of the President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
From the National Palace, the state leader formally presented the Ie-Tram transportation system, the first of its kind for the southeastern region of Mexico, with an investment of 2.82 billion pesos. Of this amount, 61% comes from the state government, 23% from Banobras (National Bank of Public Works and Services), and 16% from private investment.
Vila Dosal emphasized that with this electric transportation system, it will connect Mérida with the neighboring municipalities of Umán and Kanasín, thus linking 137 neighborhoods from the three municipalities with 80 transportation routes, over 30 educational centers, two stations of the Maya Train, La Plancha Park, and 20 tourist spots in Mérida.
The system is expected to be ready by the fourth quarter of 2023.
