Officers from the Municipal Police of Progreso, with the assistance of agents from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), arrested an individual after being reported for sexual harassment, as he was caught exposing his genitals to women.
Around fifteen officers from the State and Municipal Police participated in the operation to apprehend the man.
According to the information gathered, SSP and Municipal Police officers intercepted a shirtless man on 78th Street, between 25th and 27th Streets in the port area, just a few meters from the Progreso pier.
The man, who appeared to be intoxicated, attempted to attack the officers when he realized he was surrounded, which required more reinforcements. Thanks to the presence of additional officers, the man was handcuffed, put into a municipal patrol car, and taken to the public jail.
It was reported that the man was arrested after a call was made to 911 to alert about a man in public space engaging in inappropriate actions in the presence of women and children. Subsequently, an operation was launched to apprehend the individual in question.
It is worth mentioning that during the summer vacation period, there has been an increase in disturbances, reports, and traffic accidents in Progreso.
In addition to this case of sexual harassment, a few days ago, a fight was reported on 76th Street and 27th Street, resulting in several people being detained, and a man, approximately 30 years old, being seriously injured after being attacked in the head with a stone.
