Defendant in case of animal abuse in San José Tecoh is linked to the process

Accused of the crime of mistreatment or cruelty against a domestic animal, LFST was linked to the process, after evaluating the data and evidence presented by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), for the events that occurred at earlier this year in the San José Tecoh neighborhood.

(FGE).- During the hearing, held before the Second Control Judge of the First Judicial District, the litigation prosecutors presented the data gathered by the members of the FGE’s Specialized Unit for Domestic Animal Abuse Crimes so that the judicial authority could resolve the legal situation of the accused, who was linked to the process for the crime charged during the initial hearing, held under criminal case 78/2023.

From the facts, gathered by the specialists of the Prosecutor’s Office, it is established that they occurred in January 2023, when the defendant hit his dog “Zeus” with a piece of wood, for which he was formally denounced, in addition to the fact that during the investigation, it was observed that the animal had been neglected in its health by the defendant many times before, so the information was included in the investigation folder to define the legal situation of the defendant.

Finally, the precautionary measures imposed during the initial hearing were ratified, which include that the defendant be under the supervision of the State Center for Precautionary Measures, he is prohibited from approaching the victims and must not have any pet animals under his care, these measures will remain in force throughout the rest of the process.
