Closure of wastewater treatment plant in Mérida

Following the temporary closure of the wastewater treatment plant by Profepa, the Municipality of Mérida is working to provide evidence of environmental compliance in the operation processes of this facility.

Currently, the Municipality is exhausting all verification mechanisms that validate the proper functioning of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will be presented to the relevant authorities.

The federal and municipal authorities, in accordance with legal guidelines, are coordinating this procedure to restore this service as soon as possible.

Likewise, the municipal authority will take the necessary measures to continue providing this service to the citizens and prevent any disruptions for the residents of the Municipality.

The Municipality of Mérida emphasizes that it will seek temporary measures to ensure the provision of the service while respecting environmental conservation guidelines.
