Citizens and activists will fight for environmental awareness in Mérida

Next Saturday, July 29th, the linear park “Los Paseos” in the Francisco de Montejo residential area will be the stage for the first “Earth Fight Campaign,” an event organized by the association “Va por la Tierra” (Going for the Earth).

This initiative aims to promote environmental awareness and foster human rights through various recreational and educational activities.

The event, which will start at 5 in the afternoon, will feature a series of activities to involve the entire community in environmental protection.

One of the main actions will be the reforestation of a space in the park, where attendees will have the opportunity to actively contribute to caring for the environment.

Another highlighted attraction of the day will be the presentation of an environmentally themed wrestling character, who has not yet been named.

The selection of the stage name will be an inclusive process, as a call will be made for the public to propose suggestions without a specific gender, allowing the mask to be used by both women and men.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the State Human Rights Commission (Codhey), there will be a theater presentation focused on promoting human rights.

The day will also include an agroecology workshop, where children will learn about seed cultivation and various ecological practices. Additionally, there will be an Animal Welfare Fair, with various activities centered around caring for and respecting animals.

The highlight of the event will be a wrestling show starting at 8 in the evening, featuring Yucatecan wrestlers, including the renowned Suicida Jr., who will present a special spectacle focused on environmental conservation.
