A 53-year-old man received a dangerous bite from a small snake when he was cutting Guano palms in a rural location to the west of this municipality.

On Wednesday, July 5th, Eustaquio PP, (aka) “Zero”, 53 years old, was working on communal land near the road to Celestún.
While he was picking up palm tree leaves, a small rattlesnake bit his left hand. So, as best he could, he made himself a tourniquet, killed the reptile and put it in a bag.

Upon reaching the municipal seat, one of his brothers took him on a motorcycle to the IMSS clinic on the exit to Samahil.

Immediately, the IMSS medical staff dropped everything, seeing that the bite was serious, to request paramedics from the Mexican Red Cross, while they supplied him with serum and stabilized him.

Finally, the emergency services of the Yuc-010 ambulance transferred the patient to the H’Orán Hospital in Mérida for better care.

The man’s state of health is unknown, but what helped the kinchileño was his temperance and patience, after being stung by this poisonous reptile, he never surrendered until he reached the hospital.
