46-year-old man drowns in Celestún, Yuc.

Carlos Arturo Ch. Ch. (a) “Turi”, 46 years old, lost his life by drowning when he went swimming in the sea after having eaten and ingested alcoholic beverages, on Sunday, July 2nd.

CELESTÚN, YUCATÁN.- The now deceased, a native of Kinchil, arrived with his 35-year-old wife María AS, to spend the day on the beach, along with a group of people that were part of the Virgin of Tetiz religious procession.

The family spent the whole afternoon at the beach, they had a meal and the Arturo drank a few beers. At one point he decided to take a dip in the water.

In the distance, his wife saw how he was having trouble getting out and asked for help. So when help arrived it was too late, the man had drowned.

The area was cordoned off by the Municipal Police awaiting personnel from the FGE and SEMEFO.

The scene made a deep impression on the witnesses on the beach, because a few minutes later a strong storm fell, where the woman and sister remained broken in tears next to the man’s body, until the corresponding authorities arrived to take care of the
