Yucatecan archers add another pair of gold medals and two bronze medals

The individual Olympic round left two more gold medals and two more bronze medals for the Yucatan archery delegation at the Conade 2023 Nationals, to reach nine gold medals and ready the arrows for the team competitions in Aguascalientes.

Elías Reyes Cravioto climbed to the top of the podium for the fourth time in the U-18 compound archery event, beating Mexico’s Leonardo Benítez in the final, 145-141. Previously, in the semifinals, a millimetric tie-breaking arrow, which required the judge’s evaluation, gave the Yucatecan the pass over Víctor Portillo, from Querétaro.

Likewise, in the U-24 compound, Juan Carlos del Río won the gold medal after defeating by the same score, 145-141, Rodrigo Olvera Méndez, also a national team member, from San Luis Potosí. Third place went to Miguel Becerra Rivas, from Jalisco.

In the U-16 division, Lía Lugo Romero defeated Zully León Cano, also from Yucatan, in the battle for third place.

Andrea Zamarrón, from Jalisco, won the championship crown, while Eugenia Hurtado Barba, from host Aguascalientes, took the silver.
