The Director of the Sustainable Development Unit of Mérida, Alejandra Bolio Rojas, announced that the Yucatan Public Veterinary Hospital will be ready by the end of August.
She mentioned that the Municipal Center for Animal Care (CEMMA) will relocate next to this new hospital, so they will have services to attend to stray dogs, as well as an area for dogs available for adoption.
She noted that they expect these services and capacity to gradually increase as the hospital becomes operational.
The Yucatan Public Veterinary Hospital will be located near the Western Ecological Park, behind the Psychiatric Hospital, and represents a joint investment of 30 million pesos, with the State Government contributing 15 million pesos, and the City Council providing the rest, as well as the land where the hospital is being constructed.
